A fashion show, blood drive, and bowl painting workshop are among our editor’s pick of 10 upcoming things to do in Beloit and the surrounding area.

 

WINTER CRAFTER & FARMER’S MARKET
BELOIT – Shop in the winter market and craft fair with dozens of vendors selling produce, baked goods, homemade crafts, and more. This indoor farmers market occurs every Saturday, 9 a.m. – noon from November-April. Come enjoy the live music, fresh produce, and craft tables in downtown Beloit.

 

BOWL PAINTING WORKSHOP FOR SURVIVORS
SOUTH BELOIT – This interactive workshop involves therapists from Stateline Mental Health Services teaching participants how to paint, break, and repair ceramic bowls that represent trauma. This workshop takes place on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Nature at the Confluence, 306 Dickop Street. Tickets are $15 each and advanced registration is required.

 

BILINGUAL PROGRAM: LA POSADA
BELOIT – Celebrate the Mexican holiday La Posada at the Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Blvd, on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 2-4 p.m. Activities, tamales, atole, and folk dancing from “Grupo Folclorico Sangre Mexicana de Beloit.” Presented by La Preferida de Beloit.

 

LIVE MUSIC AND FASHION SHOW
BELOIT – Beloit Passion Studios is hosting a fashion show with 1950s rock and roll live music at the Forge, 156 St Lawrence Ave, on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 6-8 p.m. The fashion show is put on by Beautifully Twisted of Walworth and will feature live performances from Ella Miss, Spitsfarts, and Talon.
