Beloit Farmers’ market adapts to COVID-19 protocols

by Lauren Baker, WREX – March 21, 2021

People in the Stateline are able to grab some fresh and local goodies all thanks to a farmers market.
The Downtown Beloit association is hosting its first-ever indoor winter market.
The association started the market back in November because of COVID-19
restrictions.
Every Saturday, people are able to get things like honey, eggs, meats, and cheese all in
one spot.
“COVID put a damper on all of our vendors, we were only allowed to have a select few
outsides versus our normal hundred vendors that we normally have. So we just
wanted to come up with a way to let them sell their products and then, more
importantly, let them sell them year-round,” said Downtown Beloit Association
Executive Director Shauna El-Amin.
