Become a vendor at the Beloit Farmers Market

To provide community members with additional access to affordable and healthy foods, the Downtown Beloit Association Farmers Market and SSM Health are partnering for the ‘Double Up Food Bucks’ program.

The Beloit Farmers Market and SSM Health Double Up Food Bucks program encourages community members who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to purchase fresh produce and grocery essentials from local vendors.

Many Beloit Farmers Market vendors accept Double Up Food Bucks (market tokens) – which can be purchased at the Beloit Farmers Market information booth – as the form of payment.

The process is easy:

  • Stop by the Beloit Farmers Market Information Booth, located the corner of Grand Avenue and State Street, in downtown Beloit.
  • Present active SNAP card.
  • Choose dollar amount to have deducted from SNAP account.
  • For the Double Up Food Bucks program, every $5 a community member purchases in market tokens will be matched in bonus funds from SSM Health (up to $15, once per month, while funding lasts). Example: A community member who purchases $15 from their SNAP account would receive $15 in additional funds from SSM Health, once per month, while funding lasts.

Double Up Food Bucks (market tokens) can be used to purchase fresh produce, baked goods, eggs, honey and more at the market. Note: they cannot be used to purchase art products, gifts, food truck meals, etc.

Additional individuals and businesses are encouraged to contribute to the Double Up Food Bucks Program “pot” to help grow the amount of funds available to address food insecurity. All donations, big or small, make a positive difference to help those most in need.
