BELOIT — Steve Wolf, Tom Morgan and Dr. Pierre Charles want people to have a few drinks and a few laughs with friends while they learn about a local charity that is helping the poorest residents of Haiti.

The three men are organizing a celebrity bartender fundraising event to benefit Hope for Haitians, which funds the building of homes as well as other aid to the people of the poverty-stricken country.

The fundraiser is scheduled for 6 — 9 p.m. Sept. 15 at CheezHead Brewing at 414 Pleasant St., Beloit.

“The main point is to bring awareness,” said Steve Wolf, who serves as vice president of the Rockford-based Hope For Haitians. “We are trying to get a younger group aware of what is going on in the world.”
