BELOIT The Greater Beloit Area is rich in flavorful food offerings, and tacos seem to be one of the more popular dining choices.
So, why not have an event featuring the best taco vendors in the area?
That was the idea behind the Beloit Taco Takedown, which is scheduled for 3 – 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Ironworks Campus on Third Street in downtown Beloit. Area residents will be able to vote to determine who serves the best tacos in the area.
Ryan Hickey, director of programming and entertainment for Geronimo Hospitality, the company organizing the event, said the idea for the Taco Takedown evolved over time as the company was trying to come up with a fun event for the community.
