BELOIT — Tanya McMullin and her family had staked out a spot on the sidewalk near the Stateline Family YMCA Friday night — a perfect viewing area for the Grand Lighted Holiday Parade.
Although the weather was on the cold side — 21 degrees with a windchill reading of 8 degrees and dropping fast — McMullen and her four children were seated along the parade route an hour before the parade started.
“It seems colder than usual,” McMullen said. But, she added they came early to get a good spot where they could take all the sparkle and joy of the parade.
She and her family always make it to the lighted parade.
