BELOIT — Oktoberfest, the annual outdoor celebration hosted by Downtown Beloit Association, is returning for its ninth year of hammerschlagen, axe-throwing, and beer steins. This yearly event takes place in the 300 block of State Street in downtown Beloit from 5 30-11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival and fair, and it originated in Bavaria, a
southeastern state of Germany. The festival is held annually in mid to late September. In Germany, Oktoberfest is typically celebrated for 17-18 days, ending on the first Sunday in October.
