Workers begin river work for demolition

BELOIT – Workers have begun prepping the Rock River for the final tear down of the building at 80-100 E. Grand Ave. in downtown Beloit.

 

Cottage Grovebased R.G. Huston is in charge of the $6.5 million deconstruction. Workers over the past week began installing barriers on the south side of the section of the former Kerry Inc. headquarters that remains standing over the river

 

Huston tore down the section of the building closest to State Street over the last week of September and first week of October. To complete the teardown, Huston will have to divert the river to remove the pilings that are anchored in the river bed
