Powerhouse Riverwalk opens to the public

Beloit’s Powerhouse Riverwalk isn’t quite done yet, but it is ready for the public.
On Wednesday, the city announced people could start using the 850-foot path along Pleasant Street that links downtown Beloit and Riverside Park.
City officials described it as “transform(ing) a sidewalk… into a well-lit concrete path and bridge structure along the edge of the Rock River.”
It is right next to the Beloit Powerhouse, a combined student and community center, that Beloit College is creating using an old Alliant Energy/WPL
power plant.
